The U.S. led coalition continues to launch military strikes against an Iranian- backed forces including Houthi rebels in Yemen. The Houthis says this will not stop them in continuing to attack and destroy any ship vessels in the Red Sea which belongs to any country that supports Israel’s war in Gaza.
The attacks comes just after an Iranian- backed militia group claimed responsibility for the attack on US military installation in Jordan last week, which killed three US Army Reserve Soldiers and wounded many more.
According to Pentagon, “these precision strikes are intended to disrupt and degrade the capabilities that the Houthis use to threaten global trade, and the lives of innocent mariners, and are in response to a series of illegal, dangerous, and destabilizing Houthis actions since previous coalition strikes on January 11 and 22, 2024”.
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, says that, “Houthis will continue to bear further consequences if they do not end their illegal attacks on international shipping and naval vessel”.
The U.S led coalition continues to launch strikes targeting multiple sites and military storage facilities. The strikes were launched in Syria, Yemen and Iraq. Parliamentarians in Iraq have since ordered the U.S to leave their country, stating that, “they are violating Iraq’s sovereignty because they are there uninvited”.
The U.S attack is well calculated and coordinated, it avoid to provoke war with Iran. It attacks and destroy Iranian back- forces. Strikes weapons storage site and command centers.
According to Pentagon statement, “our aim remains to de-escalate tensions and restore stability in the Red Sea but let us reiterate our warning to Houthi leadership: we will not hesitate to continue to defend lives and the free flow of commerce in one of the world’s most critical waterways in the face of continued threat”.
