Danny was apprehended on Tuesday, November 13, and his R20,000 bail application was approved the same day. His co-accused include SAFA’s Chief Financial Officer, Gronie Hlunyo, and a 46-year-old official businessman who has also been charged with fraud and theft. According to reports, he filed papers with the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday to prevent his arrest and prosecution.

The GostarSA stated in a post on X that SAFA and Bafana Bafana accounts blocked their account last year because they were asking when Danny was leaving, as they believed that he was failing to lead South African football.Â
Danny was elected SAFA President since 2013, succeeding Kirsten Nematandani. Since 2013, he has always been re-elected to the position until today.Â

MphoWaMoletlane emphasized in a post on X that SAFA President Danny Jordaan deserves respect as he is one of the country’s most colorful sports administrators of all time. Mhpo stated that the practice of filing false charges against leaders must end. Additionally, Mpho also emphasized that the NPA and Hawks must avoid being associated with individual or political attacks.
The suspects are expected back in court today.
