Vice President Kamala Harris met with President Zelenskyy at the Munich Security Conference, in Germany. The two met to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to continue supporting Ukraine ahead of the two-year anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion.
The U.S Reaffirms Commitment to Ukraine
Speaking at the meeting, Harris said that, the stakes in Ukraine remain high. International rules and norms are on the line, including the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“The stakes of Ukraine’s fight for freedom and democracy remain high for the entire world”. The Vice President’s speech continues to reiterate the U.S. support to Ukraine. “We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes”.
“If we fail to impose severe consequences on Putin, he will keep going and other authoritarians would be emboldened”, She said.
President Volodymyr Zelensky asked partners for more military assistance to Ukraine. “If we have enough air defense systems, we can bring millions of Ukrainians home,” he said
