(The Post News) – The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry will resume its public hearings on 13 October 2025, following a short postponement due the illness of Crime Intelligence head, Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Commission spokesperson Jeremy Michaels confirmed that the break was due to to the unavailability of Commissioner Sesi Baloyi, who will be attending to her duties as a member of the Judicial Service Commission.
Proceedings were adjourned after crime intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo fell ill.
Commissioner Masemola Assures Khumalo is Getting Better
National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola has assured South Africans that Khumalo is recovering well. “General Masemola is in contact with the senior officer and confirms that he is in good spirits and taking health advice from his physician.
“The general’s health is receiving priority and the Madlanga Commission will be kept abreast of all developments pertaining to his condition as well as when he will be available to continue with his testimony,” said police spokesperson, Athelenda Mathe.
