Sean “Diddy” in 2023
(The Post News)- Combs, who is presently being held in a New York jail, has entered a not guilty plea to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
In his impending trial, Sean “P Diddy” Combs wishes to provide a statement. Hip-hop mogul Marc Agnifilo, the lawyer for the 54-year-old rap artist, has stated that the rapper will testify during the hearing. The musician is presently awaiting trial on federal sex crime accusations.
In an excerpt from the TMZ film The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, Agnifilo expressed, “I’m not sure I could prevent him from testifying.” I believe he is anxious to share his narrative.”
Agnifilo has additionally proposed that his client answer the video evidence that shows him seemingly attacking his former partner, Cassie Ventura, in a hotel back in 2016. According to Agnifilo: “I think he will tell every part of his story, including what you see on the video.”
Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, deception, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Earlier this month, Combs made an appearance in court in Manhattan.
When asked how he entered a plea to the allegations during a court hearing, Combs responded, “Not guilty.” After paying $50 million, the rapper’s attorneys asked to have Combs released on bond as he awaited trial.
But after a protracted back and forth between the legal teams on Combs’ potential for escape, Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky declared that the rap artist will stay behind bars until his sex trafficking trial starts. Subsequently, Agnifilo stated that the musician is committed to “proving his innocence.” Outside the court, Agnifilo said to reporters, “He’s going to fight this.” He is not guilty.
His goal in coming to New York was to prove his innocence. We have total faith in him. These are not the things he did. Both coercion and criminality are absent.”
