(The Post News) – The Soweto Derby features South African giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. Two of the biggest and most supported clubs in African football.
The Soweto Derby is one of Africa’s fiercest football rivalries, known for its intensity, sold-out stadiums, and cultural significance. It is more than a match it is pride, history, and dominance on the line.
The upcoming clash is scheduled for 26 April 2026, continuing a rivalry that dates back to 1970. The Derby will be hosted at the iconic FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, the derby represents Soweto’s football heartbeat.

While the progress is clear, Kaizer Chiefs Technical Team, Cedric Kaze has insisted the job is far from done, “The improvement is obvious, but we want to do better than that.”
